We have created a website specifically for our 2021 Conference! https://finch-cube-nr6d.squarespace.com/. It contains links for all performances and presentations, uploaded materials, and a friendly user interface to access the schedule.
We are so excited to be able to welcome participants to the 2021 Conference both in-person and virtually! Virtual presentations and performances will be shared via either YouTube Premiere or Zoom. We have also set up rooms on campus so that live attendees can enjoy the virtual component. Live performances taking place in Margo Jones Performance Hall will be streamed through YouTube. Performances in Eberly Hall will be accessible via Zoom. All links will be available through the conference website. To adhere with copyright laws, videos will not remain posted after they have been aired.
Check-In & Onsite Registration
Check-in for those who have pre-registered for the NACWPI 2021 National Conference is located in the foyer of Texas Woman’s University’s Music Building. The Music Building's address is 1100 Oakland Street, Denton, TX 76201. It is the building to the left of the pioneer woman statue coming into the circle driveway. Onsite conference registration is available at the same location for a cost of $50.00 for current NACWPI members and $25 for student/graduate student NACWPI members. Registration will be open on Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Visitors can park for free on Texas Woman’s University’s campus after 6:00 p.m. on weeknights and on the weekend. This excludes spaces in the parking garage that are numbered or painted white. Please adhere to all signs posted. During the day on Friday, attendees can park free of charge in the parking lot behind the Marketing and Communications Building. Please see the attached campus map for more information!
Texas Woman’s University is located in Denton, approximately 30 miles northwest of DFW and 30 miles north of Dallas Love Field. Both conference hotels, Fairfield Inn & Suites Denton and Embassy Suites Convention Center, are located less than 3 miles from the university. You can find out more information about getting around Denton on the Denton County Transportation Authority website: https://www.dcta.net/. Uber, Lyft, and taxis are also available.
Guest/Visitor Event Passes
Event passes for guests may be purchased at the registration booth at a cost $8.00 per day (cash or check accepted). A discounted student rate of $5.00 is available for those individuals possessing a student/graduate student ID from any institution. Event passes grant the holder access to all performances and presentations for the entirety of the day.
There will be practice rooms and rehearsal spaces available during the conference. We have created a SignupGenius to request rehearsal space times in larger rooms. Each space will be equipped with a piano and is large enough for a chamber ensemble. We have scheduled 10 minutes of air out time between each rehearsal and will provide sanitization materials and air filters. The SignupGenius can be accessed here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090F48AAAD28A1F49-nacwpi
Available Technologies for Presentations
Lecturers and clinicians will have access to audio and projection equipment with VGA and HDMI connectivity. Please bring your own cables and source adapters necessary for your technology. Computers are provided in each room, if you would prefer to access your files through a USB drive or Google Drive. Our largest lecture hall, ASSC 259, also has a microphone available. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any additional questions or concerns!
“twunet” is the available, unencrypted wifi network available for anyone on campus. You should not need a password.
The printed conference book and website will include performance program repertoire, clinic/lecture abstracts, and performer/presenter biographies. Performers and presenters are encouraged to bring program notes or clinic/lecture outlines for distribution prior to their clinic, lecture, or performance. Copies are the responsibility of the performer/presenter. If you would like to have additional materials uploaded to the conference website, please include them in your designated Google folder by 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 20th (please check previous email for instructions).
Our business meeting will be held on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. via Zoom and in person in ASSC 259. After the meeting, in person attendees who registered for lunch will head to ASSC 153 for their meal.
