The NACWPI 2019 National Conference was held October 11-13, 2019, on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The City of Cedar Falls is located in Black Hawk County, in the State of Iowa. In Cedar Falls, you can visit the past by strolling through structures listed with the National Historic Registry, stay updated by attending a lecture at the University of Northern Iowa or catching a traveling Broadway show at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. You can keep in shape by traveling the miles of bike trails or enjoy the Grout Museum's many exhibits.

Registration

Registration for the 2019 NACWPI National Conference is open. We offer a convenient online registration option with integrated PayPal and credit/debit card processing. Personal, institutional, and cashier’s checks or money orders may be submitted by mail.

Conference fees are just $50.00 (USD) for active/retired wind and percussion faculty/instructors, accompanists, and supporting musicians. Students and gradate students enjoy a discounted conference rate of $25.00 (USD).

Additional Information

Check-In & Onsite Registration: Check-in for those who have preregistered for the NACWPI 2019 National Conference is located at the NACWPI National Conference booth located in the lobby of the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center . The street address is 8392 University Avenue, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Onsite Conference registration is available at the same location at a cost of $50.00 for current NACWPI members and $25 for student/graduate student NACWPI members. The booth will be open at the following times: Friday 11:00AM-5:00PM, Saturday 9:00AM-5:00PM (not including the lunch break), and Sunday 8:00-11:00AM.

Parking: Parking is located across from and behind the Gallagher Bluedorn PAC. The cost of weekday, on-campus parking for performers and presenters is included in the conference registration fee. Parking passes will be provided at check-in on Friday only. Parking is free after 6:00PM Friday and throughout the weekend. As the organization incurs a fee on a per pass basis, please request parking passes as needed.

Ground Transportation: Waterloo Regional Airport is located approximately 10 minutes from UNI and the conference hotels. Country Inn & Suites is 1 mile from the Gallagher Bluedorn PAC and Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 3 miles. Uber, Lyft, taxis, and city buses operate in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area. There are typically no standing taxis at the Waterloo airport, so consider arranging vehicle transportation in advance of your arrival.

Guest/Visitor Event Passes: Event passes for guests may be purchased at the National Conference booth at a cost $8.00 per day (cash or check accepted). A discounted student rate of $5.00 is available for those individuals possessing a student/graduate student ID from any institution. Event passes grant the holder access to all performances and presentations for the entirety of the day.

Wi-Fi Access: You may preregister for campus Wi-Fi access here.

Available Technologies: Lecturers and clinicians will have access to audio and projection equipment with VGA, HDMI, and wireless connectivity.

Recordings: Conference performances will be audio recorded and digital links made available to performers via email after the Conference concludes. Clinics held in PAC 30 will NOT be recorded, but presenters are welcome to bring their own recording device.

Program/Clinic Notes: The printed Conference book will include performance program repertoire, clinic/lecture abstracts, and performer/presenter biographies. Performers and presenters are encouraged to bring program notes or clinic/lecture outlines for distribution prior to their clinic, lecture, or performance. Copies are the responsibility of the performer/presenter.

Dining: Dining information for all of Cedar Falls and for the College Hill area adjacent to the UNI campus.
